This is a wonderful old vintage wooden Cassin wooden shafted ice axe. Named after Riccardo Cassin (the famous Italian Mountaineer) this ice axe most likely dates from 1949 - 1952. In excellent condition, still usable today featuring its original cotton wrist leash, negative tip clearance pick, solid wooden shaft, curved adze, traditional shaped spike and a leather head cover.
