It is slightly thinner and lighter than a regular snaffle to provide enough space in the horses mouth for two bits. It functions like a standard snaffle, applying pressure to the lips, tongue and the bars of the mouth. The eggbutt design reduces the risk of pinching the sides of the mouth compared to a loose ring bradoon.
