Vintage 1940s Beaded Dress in Brown Copper Crepe / S

Stunning cocktail dress with a midi length skirt, it is collarless with three-quarters length sleeves, a nipped waist and shiny copper beading around the keyhole at center of throat, the neckline, and at the curves of the large and dramatic hip pocket at left front thigh. Closes with a zipper and hook at rear. Unlined. No tags.
Note the beautiful tailoring details with the deep V darts at the chest, the long pleat on either side of chest, and the unusual shape of the pocket.

Condition: Good and wearable as is, but with a few small issues. The shoulder pads seem more recent and not the original. The beading at the very top edge of the neckline trim at left is missing a tiny section and the outer section of the sleeves and the underarm areas are slightly brighter/discolored in comparison with the rest of the dress - a common phenomenon to rayon crepe of this area if and when it was unevenly exposed to light. I think it's a cool and very subtle ombre effect so make it work for you! This dress is too beautiful in every other way to be stopped by any of the above.
